What Comes Down Must Go Up

In Genesis 28, Jacob has an unusual dream of a ladder and angels. Jesus uses this dream with a slight modification to show something unique about the nature and work of Christ. Why would He use that dream of Jacob’s? Are there other instances in Scripture that support what is happening in Jacob’s dream and in Jesus’ reference to Himself? If so, God has been showing mankind something miraculous for 4,000 years!
