The Temptation of Jesus

The
Gospels record the account of Jesus being led into the wilderness to be tempted
by satan. It is immediately after His baptism, and before His ministry begins. This event in the life of Christ often raises
many questions for Bible readers. Why
was Jesus tempted? If Jesus was really
God, was it truly temptation? Did satan
know who he was dealing with? What does
Jesus’ temptation have to do with my life as a Christian?
Jesus
‘broke the barrier’ by resisting all temptation – a ‘first’ for man – this
gives me hope that through belief in His power, I also can resist.
