It is Written

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus teaches what are considered ‘radical’ lessons. At least the lessons were radical based on the teachings considered ‘normal’ at that time – teachings of the Pharisees and other religious leaders – teaching based on a intricate set of detailed laws, supposedly based on God’s laws given to Moses. But were Jesus’ teaching really ‘radical’ or just based back on the simplicity of God’s laws, therefore not ‘radical’ but ‘devout?’ Dozens of times Jesus bases His teachings in His words, “It is written,” reminding the hearers that everything should originate in the laws of God – not man.
