Israel’s First Kings – This lesson takes place mainly in I & II Samuel. We also used, for reference, the book by Gene Edwards, A Tale of Three Kings. We look at the lives of Saul, David, Absalom & Solomon, focusing mainly on David and his behavior before and after becoming king. What is David’s response to Saul and Absalom when they attack him? How does he ‘hand off’ his kingship to Solomon?
