By Him, For Him, Through Him
December 20, 2020 -
In the book of Colossians, Paul tells us that all things were created BY Jesus, and FOR Jesus. John’s Gospel opens with the statement that all things were made THROUGH Him. What does Scripture mean when it says that all creation was BY Him, FOR Him, and THROUGH Him?
We know that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,” and with that, we know that Jesus, being a member of the Holy Trinity, must have been present at the moment of creation, and thus things were made BY Him. But how were all things also made FOR Him and THROUGH Him. Are there other places in Scripture that help support these powerful statements of fact? If so, we see once again the uniqueness, the supremacy of Jesus Christ!
